On 10–11 June 2026, the European projects FoodSafeR and HOLiFOOD held their joint final conference at the Omnia Building, Wageningen University Campus (The Netherlands), under the theme “Safe Food, Smart Future: European Innovations for a Changing World”.
Over two intense days, researchers, authorities, industry representatives and other key stakeholders from across the European food safety ecosystem came together to share the main outcomes of both projects and to discuss the major challenges shaping the future of the sector: the application of Artificial Intelligence to the prediction of emerging risks, multi-stakeholder co-design of food safety tools, hazards associated with novel food production systems, advanced detection methods and holistic risk assessment.
